Casa de Vidro.
Lina Bo Bardi in dialogue with Sverre Fehn

Exhibition
Nasjonalmuseet for kunst, arkitektur og design, Oslo
Curated by Markus Richter

Artist intervention: Veronika Kellndorfer
Art direction: Work in Progress (Torgeir Hjetland), Oslo

The exhibition presented Lina Bo Bardi’s glasshouse in São Paulo, Casa de Vidro (1950–52), inside Sverre Fehn’s glass pavilion (1997-2008) in Oslo. The juxtaposition served as a starting point for a dialogue between two architects who never met, working in distant corners of the world. However, there are surprising similarities between their respective oeuvres: the sculptural use of reinforced concrete, their long-standing commitment to rehabilitation projects and adaptive re-use, and their interest in exhibition design.

The National Museum – Architecture commissioned artist Veronika Kellndorfera with a group of new photo-based work reflecting Bo Bardi’s Casa de Vidro and developed especially for Fehn’s glass pavilion.
