In Dialogue:
The Architecture of Lina Bo Bardi & Sverre Fehn
Part 1 of a two-part seminar accompanying the exhibition
Casa de Vidro. Lina Bo Bardi in dialogue with Sverre Fehn
The National Museum – Architecture, Oslo
27 January 2017
Lectures by Zeuler Lima (Associate Professor, School of Design and Visual Arts, Washington University, St. Louis),
Veronika Kellndorfer (Artist, Berlin), Per Olaf Fjeld (Professor Emeritus, The Oslo School of Architecture and Design),
and Markus Richter (Curator, National Museum - Architecture)
Concept and moderation: Markus Richter
The seminar took up the fictitious dialogue between Sverre Fehn and Lina Bo Bardi instigated by the exhibition
Casa de Vidro at the
National Museum - Architecture. Architects Lina Bo Bardi and Sverre Fehn never met in person, working in distant corners of the world.
However, there are surprising similarities between their respective oeuvres: the sculptural use of reinforced concrete, their long-standing commitment
to rehabilitation projects and adaptive re-use, and their interest in exhibition design.
